The Wait Is Over… Knights of the Old Republic 3??…
As reported on our last post. Bioware and LucasArts have said that they will be announcing their secret project on, or shortly after, October 21st. It will be interesting to see if it will be Knights of the Old Republic 3 or something else they have come up with. The secretism is definitely starting to intrique me and a bunch of people.
Here is the “invite” card that they sent out, announcing that, “The wait is over”.
LucasArts and BioWare’s Joint Development Project – October 21
It’s rumored now, that the long awaited development project will most likely be revealed to the press on October 21 or shortly after. This is still just a rumor, but at least it helps us get some hope!
Whether or not it will Knights of the Old Republic 3 is still a mystery, but chances are they are going to reveal something big. A lot of people are hoping for a plain old Knights of the Old Republic, rather than a Knights of the Old Republic 3 MMO. Personally, I don’t care as long as it has the title of KOTOR3.
“”LucasArts’ and BioWare’s long-awaited, much-discussed joint development project — widely speculated to be an MMO set in the Star Wars universe circa BioWare’s own Knights of the Old Republic — will be revealed to the press October 21, according to an invitation sent out to media outlets including Gamasutra.
It is likely that the official announcement will come shortly after the October 21 press reveal held at LucasArts’ San Francisco offices; events of this nature are frequently subject to a media embargo.
The postcard, which proclaims “The wait is over” and promises “the official unveiling of the game that’s been rumored about for years,” makes no explicit reference to Star Wars. It is branded with the LucasArts and BioWare logos and depicts floating robots and hooded figures in futuristic interior locations reminiscent of the sci-fi franchise.
The alleged existence of a KOTOR-themed MMO is considered one of the industry’s worst-kept secrets, with BioWare parent Electronic Arts’ CEO John Riccitiello essentially confirming the title’s existence.
Riccitiello called the BioWare/LucasArts effort “quite possibly the most anticipated game, full stop, for the industry,” before acknowledging it as a KOTOR MMO.
Development of the joint project is being handled at BioWare’s Austin studio, created specifically for MMO development.

Knights of the Old Republic MMO to be revealed soon…
Interesting, a post was made today via ComputerAndVideoGames.com, basically stating that the new Knights of the Old Republic MMO would be, “unveiled” later this month or possibly even within the next few weeks.
There is a lot of speculation on this because some people believe that it is something else that Bioware is currently working on, also that people are spectacle because rumor of Kotor 3 have been circulating for years now. There is also belief that this is just scam to build more hype for something else and also the fact that we’ve been, “fooled” before, with some of the announcements that Kotor would have been released in 2006/07, which obviously, it hasn’t.
Stay tuned, because we will be following this rumor very closely.
Check out the post:
“BioWare’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic MMO game is set to be ‘officially’ unveiled later this month, CVG has learnt.
The long-awaited online Star Wars – perhaps the games industry’s worst kept secret – is being developed by BioWare Austin, which has been tinkering away behind the scenes on the title for over two years.
Officially the company hasn’t admitted to any sort of Star Wars link with its MMO, but EA boss John Riccitiello let slip earlier this year that the RPG developer was in fact working on the online KOTOR, claiming that it is “quite possibly the most anticipated game, full stop, for the industry.”
But it looks like the game won’t (officially at least) be a secret for long. LucasArts and BioWare look set to lift the lid on a KOTOR MMO within the next 30 days.
Backing up all this is the strongest confirmation yet (other than EA’s boss saying it’s in the works, of course) from UK newspaper, The Daily Star, of all places.
A column that appeared last Saturday reports that the rag is soon off to San Francisco to “file an exclusive report on the game”, after stating that BioWare is working on “a MMO of Knights of the Old Republic”.
